Caption: Saturday, February 29, 1964. Groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the proposed performing arts center. Hidden in a tree-sheltered ravine, the site was selected to house the Howard C. Baldwin Memorial Pavilion, named by the Kresge Foundation for the noted civic leader and foundation trustee. L-R: June Bennett, OU director of Community Relations; Mrs. D.B. Varner; C.
